Regarding the Tokyo Olympics Holy Fire Relay starting on the 25th of this month, the Games Organizing Committee and others have a policy of not including the general public at the first departure ceremony held at "J Village" in Fukushima Prefecture to prevent infection with the new coronavirus. I learned from interviews with the people concerned that I had solidified.

The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will start on the 25th of this month and will take 121 days to travel to all prefectures nationwide.

In Fukushima Prefecture, which is the first starting point, a departure ceremony is scheduled for the morning of the 25th at "J Village" that straddles Naraha Town and Hirono Town. We were also considering including the general public in the ceremony.

However, in order to take measures against the infection of the new coronavirus and promote the torch relay with the highest priority on safety, it is necessary to minimize the opportunity for people to gather, and the Organizing Committee etc. started. Interviews with the people involved in the event revealed that we have decided to keep the general public out of the ceremony.

The Organizing Committee will decide the specific content of the ceremony and the number of attendees in consultation with the Fukushima Prefecture Executive Committee while assessing the infection status.
