It starts with the indoor galas in French Liévin on February 9 and Polish Torun on February 17, where the World Indoor Tour is decided.

In addition to the classic Finnkampen, the new rights agreement also includes the Diamond League competition Bauhausgalan at Stockholm Stadium, the Swedish Championships, the Folksam Grand Prix tour and Nordenkampen.

The agreement extends over 2025.

- We are very happy to have secured a strong athletics offer in SVT for many years to come.

Athletics is one of Sweden's most popular sports and attracts a large and broad TV audience, not only at the biggest championships, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

"There are two bright world stars"

SVT's viewers will thus be able to follow their athletics favorites in several of the biggest national and international competitions in the future.

- Swedish athletics is in a situation where the next few years can be very interesting.

In Duplantis and Ståhl, there are two bright world stars who will probably be even better in the future.

Just below that are several strong names who are at their best age to perform and behind that unusually many young, offensive athletes with very exciting future prospects, says SVT's athletics commentator Jacob Hård.

The rights agreement with the Swedish Athletics Association strengthens an already extensive athletics offer in SVT.

SVT already has the rights to the WC 2022, Diamond League (shared with TV4 / CMore) until 2024, the EC indoor and outdoor until 2023.
