The details of the jumping tournament, which will take place as part of the Channel One Team Cup, have become known.

According to R-Sport, the competition will be organized in a battle of the sexes format and will be divided into three rounds.

At the beginning, each team member will perform one jump, while the elements should not be repeated.

At the second stage, each athlete will show his most difficult jump.

In the final round, each participant will present a cascade of five jumps.

The last part of the program is of particular interest, because at official competitions, figure skaters can demonstrate a maximum of three elements in a cascade.

In this case, the performance will be judged according to the points system, which is valid at official tournaments.

The composition of both teams is already known.

The group of girls included Kamila Valieva, Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva.

The men's team includes Dmitry Aliev, Makar Ignatov, Mikhail Kolyada, Andrey Mozalev.

The skaters have already shared their expectations from the tournament as part of a special mini-announcement.

“Before, I could not even imagine that I would have such an opportunity, but now I can challenge the boys and see which of us will do better,” Shcherbakova admitted.

Nevertheless, the expert spoke in favor of holding such a competition.

“This tournament will show great opportunities for skaters who are able to perform such elements.

Moreover, many cannot show a large number of triple and quadruples in the program, and when there is a question of solo jumps, they can.

Historically, it has always been this way, so this is a chance for those who cannot cope with the program, but can perform adjacent jumps, having gathered on them, ”explained Averbukh.

In his opinion, making a cascade of five jumps is a difficult task even for the strongest skaters in the country.

Olympic champion Natalya Bestemyanova tried to predict in what order the skaters will try to perform jumps in a cascade that is unthinkable for official competitions.

Of course, it won't be easy.

At the World Cup, a cascade of three jumps is presented.

Zhenya Medvedeva performed a cascade of four, one of which was not evaluated.

Bestemyanova also suggested that Kolyada and Valieva are capable of a cascade of even five triple jumps.

The silver medalist of the 2012 World Championship Alena Leonova did not see this as a problem, noting that the skaters probably familiarized themselves with the rules in advance and have the opportunity to prepare for the jumping tournament.

“I think someone will clearly stand out. It shouldn't be a problem for Valieva to perform several jumps in a row. Kolyada, Valieva, Aliev are very well trained in cascades of five triple sheepskin coats. I don’t think any of them will not be able to cope with it, ”said Leonova.
