Hanna Öberg and Linn Persson started the mass start in Antholz very strong and came in as first and second to the third shot after two zeros were in the horizontal shot.

Then there was a boom for Öberg and two for Persson who fell into the field.

Lead after the last shot

But after the riders in front of Öberg blocked wildly in the last shot and the Swede shot full, she went out in the lead on the final lap.

It was a dramatic end with several skiers involved in the battle for victory.

In the end, it was a second place for Öberg who had to give in to a tight sprint battle with the Frenchwoman Julia Simon.

The victory margin was a paltry two tenths of a second.

Lisa Theresa Hauser, Austria, was third three seconds behind.

Heavier for the other Swedes

Linn Persson finished in 20th place after four booms.

Elvira Öberg was 24th with three booms and Mona Brorsson was 25th with two booms.
