Following the infection of Kento Momota of badminton with the new coronavirus, the Nippon Badminton Association waited for 11 male representatives who had been waiting at the hotel, saying that the PCR test conducted again was negative. The measures have been lifted.

Momota, who ranked first in the world ranking in men's singles, was tested positive on January 3 at Narita Airport before leaving for the international tournament, and the association canceled all athletes' overseas expeditions. Eleven men's athletes who were heading to the airport on the same bus as Momota took measures to wait at a hotel near the airport because they may have had close contact with each other.

According to the association, after confirmation by the health center, it was concluded that none of the 11 athletes had close contact, and all were negative in the second PCR test performed by the 8th.

For this reason, the waiting measures for 11 people were lifted and dissolved in 8 days.

It is said that Momota will continue to be in good physical condition, but he will continue to wait at home until January 13.
