The Sino-Spanish group was refused a deadline for payment of its second installment of the broadcasting rights of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. On October 6, Mediapro was to pay 141 million euros, out of some 814 planned to broadcast the championships.

For its part, the LFP must return this money to the clubs by October 17.

, Mediapro was refused a deadline to pay the TV rights of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. The main broadcaster of the French championship, would have wanted this extension of time additional because of the poor economic climate linked to the coronavirus.

On October 6, Mediapro was to pay 141 million euros, out of the 814 million euros planned to broadcast Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. 

A first payment made ... late at the end of August

, a first payment of 172 million made at the end of August had already been made late.

But time is running out for the LFP which must distribute this money to the clubs concerned on October 17.

This news may not be reassuring about the financial health of the Sino-Spanish group led by Jaume Roures.

To be economically viable, Mediapro is targeting 3.5 million subscribers, a figure that is still far from being reached.
