The Tunisian Federation suspends the referee's activity in the match between Etoile Sahel and Esperance

The Tunisian Football Association announced today, Sunday, the suspension of the referee's activity in the league summit match between ES Sahel and its guest, Esperance, until the end of the current sports season.

The Federation announced the penalty on its official Facebook page, "after following up and evaluating the performance of referee Walid Al-Banani" in the meeting that took place between the two teams yesterday, Saturday.

Al-Banani's performance angered Etoile’s team and its supporters for ignoring a penalty kick and committing other mistakes throughout the match.

Etoile was on his way to inflict his first defeat at Esperance this season by leading with a goal in the 19th minute, but Esperance leveled in the second minute of the match's stoppage time.

Esperance leads the league with 50 points, compared to 34 points for Etoile, fourth. Six rounds remain until the end of the competition.
