- We have not received any new facts that there would be criticism or revolt around our brand and our name. On the other hand, we are constantly working on the development of our brand and how we should manage it, says Frölunda's club director Christian Lechtaler to SVT Sport.

Both the Frölunda Indians hockey team and the speedway team Indians were reported to the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) as late as 2015 when the notifier deemed their symbols and names offensive. DO never took the case further as it was considered to fall outside the scope of the Anti-Discrimination Act. However, the event caused both clubs to act and Frölunda has since done a proper evaluation of its brand.

- We are doing branding work and have a close dialogue with, among other things, the Chicago Blackhawks who also have an Indian log. It is a work that started a couple of years ago, says Lechtaler.

Redskins are pressed for name change

Following the protests against racism in the United States, NFL club Washington Redskins and its owner Daniel Snyder have come under pressure as several players now demand a name change. Snyder has for several years said that there will be no name change as long as he is allowed to decide, but now one of the club's biggest sponsors has also requested that the "Redskins" be removed from the name.

The speedway team from the Kumla Indians who are trying to prepare for the series start later this summer have no desire to once again be in focus due to their name and logo.

- I hope not. We have had the question up really every year if you say so, since there have been discussions. If that happens again, we have to raise it then, says chairman Markus Engman to SVT Sport.

- There is nothing concrete today, but we are responsive and collect facts. Right now, it is not relevant to throw something away. It may be that we must act in the future and then we must have respect for it, says Frölunda's club director Lechtaler.
