The club of Boulogne-sur-Mer, in particular, demanded the holding of barrages to reach the League 2. - DENIS CHARLET / AFP

The Professional Football League (LFP), meeting in the Board of Directors, opposed the holding of roadblocks between Ligue 2 and the National, which the club of Boulogne-sur-Mer demanded after the early cessation of the season, said AFP this Friday.

At the end of May, the president of Boulogne, 3rd of National 1, Reinold Delattre, had indicated to be "always so confident". But the CA voted unanimously on this point, following the logic established at the end of April for the play-offs between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, which will not take place either despite the hopes of AC Ajaccio, Troyes and Clermont (respectively 3rd, 4th and 5th in L2).

The outstanding question

The decision not to hold these barrages, which normally oppose the 3rd of National to the 18th of L2 and offer a place in the second division, must now be taken by the Federation, organizer of N1. The organization of the play-offs between Ligue 2 and National 1 had still not been decided despite the definitive interruption of the season. During its executive committee of May 11, the FFF had postponed its decision pending the general assembly of the LFP of May 20. However, the latter had not ruled on the issue either.
