The Diamond League Athletics Organizers announced today the cancellation of the meetings of Zurich, London and Rabat due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and the rescheduling of meetings that were postponed to September and October.

The Diamond League was supposed to start on April 17th from Doha, but "Covid-19" has caused chaos in most sporting activities around the world, especially athletics.

In light of the change in the calendar, the Monaco meeting on August 14 became the new starting date for the Diamond League. The Diamond League said in a statement that every organizer will have the flexibility to adapt its program and the shape of its competitions.

"The 2020 Diamond League will not be a series of organized events leading to the final, as was usually the case. Given the current gaps in training and travel opportunities, it is impossible to guarantee equal opportunities and an equitable qualification system in 2020," the statement added.

Thus, the athletes will not earn points in the Diamond League this season, and there will be no final in any of the 24 competitions in Zurich, as originally planned. Each organizer will review and announce the form of their competition two months before the event, to be able to deal with the current conditions set by their governments.

The stages of Rabat, London and Zurich have been canceled, and the Monaco stage is the first on the organizers' schedule, followed by the Gateshead meeting and then Stockholm.
