No peloton on the Garonne bridges in 2020 due to coronavirus. Archives. - P. Nin / Toulouse Metropole

Even at the end of October, we won't share the effort or the drops of perspiration in the streets of Toulouse. The 2020 edition of the Grand Toulouse International Marathon is canceled. The announcement was made this Thursday by Jean-Luc Moudenc (LR), the president of the metropolis, during an exceptional metropolitan council devoted to the Covid-19 crisis.

Beyond the uncertainties about the health situation which will prevail in the fall, it is the conviction of not being able to organize the competition in good conditions which prevailed. The Toulouse marathon, which brings together some 12,000 runners and directly managed by the community, requires months of preparation and solicits providers with whom it was very difficult to get involved.
