Former Brazilian soccer star Roberto Carlos has admitted to him thanks Italian coach Fabio Capello, stressing that he is the most important coach in his football career.

Carlos has become a legend for Real Madrid, who has played for him from 1996 to 2007, but he owes much credit to this to one person, Capello, as the former player confirmed in comments published by the Spanish newspaper "Marca" on Friday.

Carlos began his career in Europe via Inter Milan in 1995, where he played next to Paul Ins and Javier Zanetti under the leadership of Massimo Moratti, then president of the club, and showed his high potential in his first matches with the team, and also showed his scoring capabilities despite his participation in the left wing position.

But the team's results were not well, which prompted Inter to sign English coach Roy Hodgson.

Carlos Roy said: "Roy Hodgson destroyed me, made me play in the midfield, I would have missed the opportunity to play for the Brazilian national team in the Copa América (Copa America) in 1997, this was not because we were playing badly but rather because he didn't know much about football ".

Hodgson believed that Roberto Carlos lacked the discipline of the left-back position, as he was preferred by player Phyllis Centovante.

Inter also contracted with Alessandro Bistone to play in the same position, which prompted Carlos to consider leaving the team, he said.

"I spoke to Moratti and asked him to leave," said Roberto Carlos, noting that he had already left for Real Madrid under the leadership of Italian coach Fabio Capello.

"I moved to Real Madrid, and Capello was the most important coach in my life," said Carlos.
