Professional baseball player Seibu has announced that the season's opening will be postponed further due to the spread of the new coronavirus, and the team's activities will be suspended for the time being from 6th of this month.

A meeting of 12 professional baseball team representatives was held on the 3rd, and the opening of the season has been postponed further from 24th this month.

In response, Seibu announced on Thursday night that the team's activities will be suspended for the time being from this month and that no practice games will be scheduled after the 10th.

Up to now, the baseball team has been holding players and staff at home on weekends and on the 4th and 5th in response to calls from local governments in the Tokyo metropolitan area to refrain from unnecessary and urgent outings.

While the team is suspended, we are asking our reporters to refrain from reporting in order to practice independently and thoroughly prevent infection.
