Fifa announced Monday jointly with the WHO the launch of a prevention clip against the new coronavirus, with a cast of stars ranging from Gianluigi Buffon to Lionel Messi, passing by the world champion Carli Lloyd.

The campaign "Pass the message to eliminate the coronavirus" aims to recall the basic instructions: "wash your hands, cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze, avoid touching your face, keep your distance and stay at home when you're not feeling well, "said Fifa in a statement. Eighteen players took part in the video which will be broadcast in 13 languages, including also Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Radamel Falcao (Galatasaray) or the old glories Xavi, Samuel Eto'o and Youri Djorkaeff.

Over 350,000 cases worldwide
"FIFA is fighting the coronavirus through a series of campaigns and funding, and I am delighted that world football is helping WHO eliminate the virus," said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director of the World Health Organization. More than 350,000 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, including more than 15,000 deaths, have been recorded worldwide since the start of the pandemic, according to an AFP count made from official sources Monday around 5:00 p.m. GMT.
