The Italian club Pescara wore protective gloves, in front of Benevento, in the Italian second division, due to the outbreak of Corona virus in Italy, but the match referee refused the players to wear the masks.

The club explained through its official account on the "Twitter" website, that this came as a precautionary measure, but the ruling prevented the players from participating in masks.

Pescara's statement included: "Given the health of our players and our opponents, we went to the field wearing protective masks, which will be removed only at the invitation of the referee, as they are not stipulated in the list."
