On Friday, the Vasalopp week starts. On Tuesday, February 25, Halvvasan runs and the night until Saturday, February 29, Nattvasan 45 runs. But now both races get changed start due to the mild weather with rain and some snow.

In normal cases, they start both races in Oxberg, walk a loop of seven kilometers around Lake Oxberg and then into the Vasalopps arena, just above the check in Oxberg. But the loop around Lake Oxberg is deleted and instead the start is moved to the control in Evertsberg.

- Right now it takes too much effort to put out snow and drag the tracks around the lake. With the launch of the start to Evertsberg, we choose to prioritize the Vasalopps arena, where the other races also go, says Tommy Höglund, sports manager for Vasaloppet, in a press release.

The race will now run over 43 kilometers instead of 45 kilometers.
