Each season is decided against seven racing weekends in alpine skiing in Austria. The season always opens with competitions in Sölden. Other classics are the evening competitions in Schladming and the downhill race in Kitzbühl.
The rights package also includes the competitions in cross-country skiing, ski cross, freeski and snowboarding that are decided in Austria.
The agreement extends through April 2024.
- Our goal is to ensure that Winterstudio, Sweden's most watched and appreciated sports program, can broadcast for many more years and this agreement will be an important part of the winter building, says Åsa Edlund Jönsson, SVT's sports manager.
The SVT winter studio attracts millions of public almost every weekend from November to March.
