The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said that the Egyptian club Zamalek is threatened with a harsh punishment if it carries out its threats to boycott the African Super Cup scheduled in the Qatari capital Doha next month.

Club president Murtada Mansour repeated the talk of boycotting the African Super match against Tunisian Esperance scheduled for February 14 due to the political dispute between Doha and Cairo.

However, CAF President Ahmed Ahmed confirmed that he did not receive any notification from Zamalek Club about not participating in the Super Game.

Ahmed said - in a press statement yesterday, Tuesday, on the sidelines of the CAF Awards ceremony in Hurghada, Egypt - that the team that withdraws will implement the list against him by depriving him of the continental championships for a period of three years.

On the other hand, Ahmed denied the reports about the transfer of the African Cup of Nations to be held in 2021 in Cameroon to Algeria or Gabon.

"Cameroon is not facing a stadium crisis, but it is facing a problem in hotels and it will be resolved as soon as possible," he said.
