Of the torch runners of the next year's Tokyo Olympics announced by Saitama on the 17th, we found that the woman who was the 91st oldest in the prefecture was actually 66 years old. The woman offered to decline the torch runner because of a typo in the application.

Saitama Prefecture announced the names, ages, etc. of 75 runners who have been selected for the torch relay held in the prefecture from July 7th to 9th next year.

Among them, a woman in Fujimino City announced that she was “the oldest in the prefecture, 91 years old”, but her husband, Keisako, told the prefecture that she entered the wrong age when applying.

The woman was actually born in 1964, and when applying through the Internet, her husband mistakenly entered “1928” where it should be “1953” in the Christian era.

The prefecture did not confirm the age of the person before the announcement.

In the afternoon of the 18th, the woman offered to decline the torch runner as saying "I made a mistake in typing."

The executive committee of the prefecture will meet with women on the 20th and finally confirm their intentions before re-selecting them from among the substitutes.

Yuichi Saito, Director of the Prefectural Olympics and Paralympics Division, said, “I am sorry to announce the wrong information. I want to make sure of the Paralympic torch runners to be announced in the future”.
