Double world champion in high jump Maria Lasitskene thinks the decision is a shame for Russia. She writes that on social media.

Oleg Matytsin, chairman of the FISU (International Association for Sport at University), is speaking for the news agency TASS and says he hopes that the Wada decision will not be enforced but will be changed at the International Arbitration Court CAS.

Former ice hockey major player and former Sports Minister Vjatjeslav Fetisov is upset by today's decision.

“I'm very upset, personally upset. This is no longer a negotiation issue. Now it remains only for us to go to CAS to argue our cause, "Fetisov, who is now an adviser to the Russian Duma, tells TASS.

“Athletes and coaches are the ones who suffer the most from this. I also suffer with them for being offended. It is not the fault of the pure athletes, this affects their careers and their future, ”continues Fetisov.

The evidence is unclear

The spokesman for the Russian duma Petr Tolstoy obviously wants to see the leaders and athletes who are guilty of punishment but thinks the evidence is unclear.

"If there is evidence then everyone involved must be punished, but the problem is that there is no evidence of many charges, at least, irreconcilable ones," Tolstoy told the Russian News Agency.

"Claiming responsibility becomes complicated when leaders have not been taken for granted," Tolstoy added.

The Russian Football Association (RFU) has not yet received any information on how Fifa views Wada's decision and is still hoping that there will be no restrictions on the Russian national team and tournaments planned in Russia, said the union's communications manager Kirill Melnikov.

Rusada should carefully read the decision

Rusada, the Russian anti-doping agency, will carefully review Wada's decision, for at least ten days ahead, before deciding how to proceed, according to Rusada's Alexander Ivlev.

And the chairman of Rusada Margarita Pakhnotskaya stated that the decision of Wada was awaited.

"I'm not surprised. This decision should force our athletic leadership to draw the right conclusions, "Pakhnotskaya says.
