Yesterday, Johanna Bundsen stood between the posts when her Copenhagen received Horsens. The Bunds had 41 percent rescue statistics in the big profits. But it was the last match in a while for Johanna Bundsen as she waits for children.

- It is a great feeling and we are of course very happy. If everything goes well, we will be parents at the end of March, which I look forward to very much, says Johanna Bundsen in a press release.

For the Swedish national team, this means that they will miss a leading player in the upcoming European qualifying matches against Northern Macedonia and Portugal and also when the World Cup starts in November in Japan.

- It is clear that it is sad not to be able to play handball for a while, especially when things went so well at the start of the season. Maybe pregnancy is also the reason why it felt so good. I still find it very fun to play handball and the feeling right now is that I want to go back after giving birth, ”says Bundsen.

"Very happy for Johanna"

Federal Captain Henrik Signell has mixed feelings about the Bundsen's absence.

- Being in the World Cup is a great experience, but there is nothing that beats becoming a parent. I am of course very happy for Johannas, even though we lose a top goalkeeper. Hopefully we will see her in the national team in the upcoming championships, says the Confederate Signell in the press release.

The Swedish national team has recently had to deal with a number of pregnancies in the player group. Anna-Maria Johansson, Ulrika Toft Hansen and Linn Blohm have all returned to the national team and played championships after giving birth to children. Earlier this year Isabella Gulldén and Johanna Westberg also became mothers, both of whom have expressed a desire to be involved in the fight for a place in the World Cup squad.

Martina Thörn from Danish Aarhus takes over Johanna Bundsen's place in the European Championship qualifier.
