SPIEGEL's "The Last Undertakers of Bakhmut" was awarded the Hansel Mieth Prize. The award commemorates Johanna “Hansel” Mieth, who died in 1998.

Reuter and Fritz accompanied the undertakers in their life-threatening work. Nine other reports were also honored, including the text “Kings without a throne” by SPIEGEL reporter Marc Hujer and photographer Hannes Jung about two lifeguards in Recklinghausen.
