- Sometimes I feel that it is a pity that I did not live as I should. On the other hand, you are who you are. I have often sought out people who have been misled by crime and abuse. Although I do not think I would have fit for a life as a serious football professional. I've always gone my own way, says Ken Fagerberg to Svt Sport.

In 2007 he made a success in Örgryte in the Superettan. There were 12 goals that season. After a U21 international match, he was bought the following year by Midtjylland in Denmark.

Many pointed out that Ken Fagerberg would move on to the big leagues in Europe. On the contrary. After playing in two more clubs (Viborg and Horsens) ended up having a bias in life off the pitch. He had "wrong" friends and had major problems with alcohol, among other things.

He returned to Sweden and two clubs (Assyrian and Ljungskile) without succeeding in football.

Decisive decision

He made a drastic decision and moved with his Danish girlfriend, Lykke, to - the Faroe Islands. They now have two children, Elias and Olivia, and have now lived in the small isolated kingdom of the North Atlantic for 2.5 years!

He did a lot to get away from his past life. First he played for the club 07 Vestur. But when the team departed from the highest series, he moved this season to TB Tvöroyri, on the southernmost island, Suduroy. Two hours by boat from the capital Torshamn.

- It's been kind of bad for me when it comes to football. Has had some damage. At least I make money so I can manage, a squat salary. But I enjoy it here in the Faroe Islands. It has been important for me to move here. Get peace and quiet. Good for the family too. And the long walks I do every day in the beautiful nature have given me peace of mind, says Ken Fagerberg.

On Thursday, Sweden will play against the Faroe Islands in the European Championship qualifiers.

- Many of the players here work full time at, for example, fish factories in the days and practice football in the evenings. But there are many talented players and several teams in the league hold super-level levels, clearly. Although Sweden should win the match fairly clearly.
