Clarisse Agbegnenou (-63kg, 26) was crowned for the fourth time on Wednesday (August 28th) in Tokyo at the World Judo Championships, after a fierce final of over 11 minutes against Japan's Miku Tashiro .

She is now ahead of Lucie Décosse, Gévrise Émane and Brigitte Deydier, all crowned three times. Undefeated for 20 months, the French Clarisse Agbegnenou became this Wednesday in Tokyo the first French judoka quadruple world champion, after her victories in 2014, 2017 and 2018.

N ° 1 in the world of -63 kg, 2016 Olympic vice-champion and four-time European champion, Clarisse Agbegnenou is ideally launched, at the age of 26, towards the next Olympic Summer Games, which will take place in the Japanese capital in 2020. It offers in passing its first medal of the week to France.

On the fourth day of competition, in Tokyo's famous Nippon Budokan, Clarisse Agbegnenou first crushed everything to reach the semi-finals, sending her first fights against Schlesinger and Liao in less than 15 seconds each. She then beat Awiti Alcaraz in just over a minute.

The final against Japan's Miku Tashiro has held the audience in suspense. The French will be penalized twice against the world No. 3, vice-world champion out, before dropping after more than seven minutes in the golden score, the extension after the four minutes of fighting.

A net win by waza-ari, as in the previous match but this time after 11 minutes and 11 seconds. Like her unfortunate opponent, the quadruple world champion has immediately burst into tears, in the very lair of the Japanese capital that will host the discipline at the Olympics next year.
