According to the Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon No. 6 is expected to travel 160 km south-southwest of Minamidaitojima at noon to the west-northwest at a speed of about 10 km per hour.
Typhoon No. 6 is expected to move from the west while involving the Daito Islands region of Okinawa Prefecture in a storm area, and will become a strong force and approach Okinawa by the 23rd of this month.
The Japan Meteorological Agency is wary of high waves accompanied by swells, and is calling for early measures against wind and rain in areas where typhoons are approaching in the future.
