On the 13th, the railway in Chiba, which had been suspended due to the impact of Typhoon No. 15, resumed operation in the southern part of the prefecture. On the other hand, some private railways still have sections that cannot be operated, and restoration work continues.

On the 13th in Chiba Prefecture, JR Uchibo Line and Sotobo Line, which had been suspended, resumed operation on all lines.

On the other hand, with private railways, the Kosodo Road connecting Ichihara City and Otaki Town is the entire line, and the Isumi Railway connecting Otaki Town and Isumi City is still inoperable in some sections, and restoration work continues.

Of these, Kosendo has suffered 10 damage due to fallen trees and landslides, and 5 places such as cable breakage, and the damage that takes time to recover is difficult.

In addition, there are places where the prefectural road leading to the restoration site is closed due to landslides around the railway line, leaving it untouched.

A woman who usually uses Kosendo said, “It is inconvenient and anxious if there is no train. I am using a substitute bus, but I want it to be restored soon.”

Mr. Eiichi Hirose, Executive Officer General Manager of Kominato, said, “Despite the damage caused by typhoons, fallen trees, landslides, and cable breaks, we have been suspended, but we want to proceed as soon as possible to resume operation.”
