Events New night of illegal car and motorcycle races in the Metropolitan: the Police investigate the videos uploaded on networks
The Civil Guard is investigating a series of videos spread on social networks where drivers boast of reaching 300 kilometers per hour in various sections of the southeastern arch of the M-50, in Madrid. They are clandestine races that
are held at dawn and on weekends where the challenge is to reach the maximum possible speed
after having reprogrammed the car's electronic system, which allows them to modify the software to emulate Formula 1 sports cars.
In the footage that is being investigated, you can see two vehicles, both yellow Seat Leóns, traveling in parallel at maximum speed and a third from which the recording is made.
They are called
launched
and are called minutes before on social networks.
The participants have their own surveillance system, which consists of having several friends stationed in various areas of the M-50 to raise the alarm if they see a Municipal Police or Civil Guard car. Sometimes,
they have changed the license plate of the cars for other vehicles that have been deregistered or scrapped so as not to be hunted.

Suicidal drivers record these challenges and spread them in WhatsApp groups. In the videos you can see how the same car has a different license plate. "This is the milk, for my eggs that I pass to you," is heard in several of the images.
In theory there are no bets involved and they are made by reputation and fame between groups. It is suspected that
they have some mechanical workshops where cars are manipulated
, including the suspension and other parts of the vehicle.
In the videos released of the races, it is observed that
they circulate through the tunnels of the outer ring of the M-50 located near Perales del Río
, a stretch that has a straight line of more than five kilometers and four lanes in each direction.
There is no radar in that area of the ring road, something that the perpetrators of these duels also know. For these drivers,
the challenge is to reach the maximum possible speed
and have it recorded on the Dragy devices. They usually meet up at dawn in a polygon in Villaverde and in Vallecas. First they meet to drink and then they send several friends to stand on the M-50 bridges. Once deployed, they begin to exchange messages in a private chat and give the go-ahead to hit the road.
