Inauguration of supplying the Heart Center with an advanced cardiac catheterization device (Al Jazeera)

In preparation for the opening of the cardiac catheterization department at the Cardiovascular Center in Taiz, Yemen, the Qatar Red Crescent, in partnership with Qatar Charity, launched the Azurion 3 F15 cardiac catheterization device, which is one of the advanced and modern devices used in accurate diagnosis and safe treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The initiative aims to improve the quality of medical services provided to cardiovascular patients in Yemen, as it is considered a qualitative shift that will provide more accurate diagnosis and more efficient and quality care, at a total cost of approximately $1.1 million, funded by donors in the State of Qatar.

The device features a high-definition, three-dimensional imaging system, which supports integration with artificial intelligence techniques to improve image analysis and speed up the diagnosis process. It will contribute to improving the quality of health care at the center and providing advanced and comprehensive medical services to patients.

The total cost of the device was approximately $1.1 million, funded by donors in the State of Qatar (Al Jazeera)

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Qasim Bahibah, the Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population, expressed his hope that this center will be expanded and extend to other Yemeni governorates. Dr. Abu Dharr Al-Jundi also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity, as implementing agencies for the center’s support project for its efforts to alleviate... The suffering and burdens of heart patients who need great support. 

For his part, Park Dr. Abdullah Al-Naim, Director of Programs at Qatar Charity, inaugurated work on the device, “which arrived after suffering and a long journey, and was completed with success,” and added: “The device will serve the center and alleviate the suffering of a large segment of Yemeni heart patients.

It is worth noting that the project’s support is not limited to providing the center with a cardiac catheterization device, but also includes heart patients by providing medicines and medical supplies, in addition to performing 404 free surgical operations and therapeutic catheterizations for patients in need, with a focus on the vulnerable, displaced, low-income, and people with special needs. .

For reference, the Cardiovascular Center is considered the first specialized government center in Yemen. It was established according to international standards, in August 2021, and includes more than 200 qualified Yemeni staff of doctors, consultants, technicians and administrators. It is considered one of the most important centers that perform surgical operations. Advanced and complex surgeries, such as simple cardiac surgeries, correction of congenital malformations in children, removal of tumors from the heart, transplant surgeries and replacement of arteries and valves, tetralogy of Fallot and Glenn, and many others, with the utmost precision and care for patients.
