CCTV News (News Network): Recently, a number of major ecological environment restoration and management projects have been launched in my country.

Implementing the "Action Plan for Continuous Improvement of Air Quality" is an important part of this year's air pollution prevention and control work. Since the beginning of this year, a number of air pollution prevention and control projects supported by the central government have started construction, focusing on promoting ultra-low emission transformation in key industries such as steel, cement, and coking. In Guangxi, the civil construction of the desulfurization and denitrification transformation of this steel company has begun. After the completion of the project, the pollutants produced in the gas-fired power generation process will be significantly reduced and reach ultra-low emission levels.

This year, the ecological protection and restoration project in the Yangtze River Basin is advancing from the main stream to tributaries and inner lakes. Anhui Province has successively carried out systematic management and restoration of 84 inner lakes that merge into the Yangtze River. Through measures such as ecological dredging, restoration of aquatic vegetation, and stocking of filter-feeding fish, the quality of the water environment entering the Yangtze River will be further improved.

The "several bends" of the Yellow River are important sand source areas and path areas that affect sandstorms in Beijing, Tianjin and the eastern region. Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, and Shanxi provinces and regions have implemented in-depth integrated protection and restoration projects of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand this year. Inner Mongolia's Zhungar Banner invested another 165 million yuan this year to move towards the most difficult-to-manage areas where coarse sediments in the Yellow River are concentrated, building 79 sand dams, digging horizontal trenches and fish scale pits, planting arbors and shrubs to conserve water and soil, and creating a The small basin climate reduces the transport of sediment to the lower reaches of the Yellow River.

This year, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment organized and implemented a number of major scientific and technological projects to accelerate breakthroughs in major bottlenecks in applied research. In Shenzhen, aerial vehicles collect urban traffic information in real time. Researchers can calculate the carbon emission intensity of different vehicles, buildings, etc. on the road through a set of domestically pioneered panoramic AI recognition algorithm models. As this set of algorithm models continues to be trained and matured , will be able to replace on-site monitoring of carbon emissions in the future.

In 2024, the central government has allocated nearly 200 billion yuan in funds to support the construction of ecological civilization. The scale of funds has increased steadily compared with last year, effectively ensuring the comprehensive advancement of the construction of a beautiful China.
