Iranian Foreign Ministry: Abdullahian (right) touched on his country’s support for the peace talks in Yemen (social networking sites)

Today, Sunday, in the Omani capital, Muscat, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian held discussions with Mohammed Abdul Salam, spokesman for the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), and described the American and British attacks on Yemen as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

For his part, Mohammed Abdel Salam - who heads the Houthi negotiating delegation - reviewed the latest developments in the political process in Yemen, stressing that the group’s support for the Palestinian people has “Islamic, moral and humanitarian dimensions,” and that its attacks against Israeli targets and ships “enjoy strong support from the Yemeni people” within His position on the ongoing war in Gaza.

Agence France-Presse quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying that Abdullahian’s visit to Muscat is the first stop on a regional tour, without additional details about the countries he will visit.

This meeting comes in light of the Houthi group’s continued announcement of carrying out attacks in the Red and Arab Bahrain against Israeli ships or those heading to the ports of occupied Palestine, stressing that they will continue to do so until the Israeli war on Gaza stops, while media outlets affiliated with the group announce from time to time the attack on Yemeni areas.
