A British newspaper quoted a security and defense expert as saying that Israel may use an electromagnetic bomb against Iran if Tehran decides to strike Israeli strategic sites in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which led to the death of 7 members of the Revolutionary Guard, including a prominent commander.

The expert told the Daily Star newspaper that the only card that Israel may have is to use this unconventional weapon against Iran.

He explained, "For the first time in history, an electromagnetic bomb will be used, which is a new type of bomb that will fall on Tehran and other central areas in Iran, including Iranian nuclear facilities."

The newspaper indicated that this weapon relies on creating an “electromagnetic pulse” that leads to the disruption of infrastructure facilities and electronic devices.

On the other hand, the Israeli newspaper Maariv celebrated the “Daily Star” report, noting that this weapon “disturbs the Iranians” and “changes the equation,” as it put it.

In this context, Israeli Army Radio quoted Defense Minister Yoav Galant as saying that the defense system has completed preparations to respond to any scenario that develops with what he called the Iranian enemy.

Gallant had held a meeting with his senior aides to assess the operational situation in light of expectations of a response from Iran to the targeting of its consulate in Damascus last Monday.

On the other hand, the Iranian Students News Agency published pictures of nine Iranian-made missiles that it said were capable of reaching Israel.

At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian confirmed that Tehran will respond to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which was carried out using American-made fighters and missiles, according to him.

Abdullahian added - during his visit to Muscat - that Tehran will follow up on the matter within the legal framework through international institutions.

On the other hand, Advisor to the Iranian Leader for Military Affairs, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, said that Israeli embassies in the world are no longer safe, and for this reason Tel Aviv closed its embassies in 27 countries, which indicates its fear.
