The Resistance Brigades announced on Saturday new operations targeting the Israeli occupation army forces in the areas of the central and southern Gaza Strip, while the occupation intensified its bombing and admitted that 5 of its soldiers were injured during the battles.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, reported that a Merkava 4 tank was detonated with a Thaqib barrel bomb east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

The Al-Quds Brigades said that they bombed with mortar shells the occupation gatherings in the areas of advance in the center of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

It also said that its fighters supported a fighting group from the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), during fierce clashes with an occupation army force, and inflicted certain injuries on the force, before they all withdrew safely.

The Al-Quds Brigades broadcast scenes of its fighters from inside the combat nodes in the northern Gaza Strip on International Jerusalem Day.

In the opposite camp, the occupation army announced that 5 soldiers were injured in the battles in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.

He said that since the beginning of the war, 3,193 officers and soldiers had been injured, including 1,552 who were injured during the ground operation.

The Israeli army added that 600 soldiers and officers had been killed since the beginning of the war and 497 were seriously injured. It said that 268 soldiers were still receiving treatment after being injured in the Gaza battles.

Continuous bombing

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that Israeli artillery targeted the western and southern regions of the Gaza Strip amid heavy gunfire.

In the center of the Gaza Strip, the reporter indicated that the Israeli air and artillery bombardment targeted east of Bureij and north of Nuseirat, especially the areas of Al-Mughraqa, Al-Zahraa, and north of the Nuseirat camp, and the fighter jets continued to target the city of Khan Yunis to the south.

Late yesterday evening, Friday, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the occupation launched violent artillery shelling on the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

The occupation army continues its war on Gaza for the 183rd day, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, amid a catastrophic humanitarian situation and a worsening famine looming over the besieged Strip.
