This was announced by the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Orenburg Region, Alexander Sitnikov, on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to him, no applications were received for about half an hour.

“Unfortunately, not all people evacuated, not everyone decided to leave the unsafe zone, although they were asked to do this, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees provided explanations as to why they needed to leave the dangerous zone,” Sitnikov said.

Rescuers are expecting new requests for evacuation by nightfall, since there is no electricity, gas or light, he said.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 1,121 people, including 331 children, were evacuated in flooded Orsk after a dam break.
