  • Links Almeida and Teresa Urquijo celebrate their wedding surrounded by Feijóo and Don Juan Carlos on the "happiest day" of their lives

  • Casa Real 'Juancarlista' conclave at the wedding of José Luis Martínez-Almeida with Teresa Urquijo

According to tradition, it is said that a guest should never overshadow the bride. In the celebration held this Saturday, April 6, which united José Luis Martínez-Almeida (48) and Teresa Urquijo (27) in holy matrimony, it was Isabel Díaz Ayuso (45) who did not want to overshadow the mayor of Madrid. And not because of an outlandish wardrobe, nor because of conditions of political hierarchy, or anything like that.

She has simply arrived alone, without her boyfriend, Alberto González, to the church of San Francisco de Borja.

She did do so accompanied by the handsome man that the day before she had warned would go with her: her right-hand man, Alfonso Serrano.

For his part, King Juan Carlos I (86) has arrived supported by the infantas Elena (30) and Cristina (58) and by three of his grandchildren, Victoria Federica (23), Froilán (25) and Juan Urdangarin (24) . In short, a 'Juancarlist conclave'.

We must not forget that the bride's maternal grandmother is a cousin of Don Juan Carlos.

What the president of the Community of Madrid and the Emeritus have had in common is that both have been the most cheered guests at the entrance and exit of the religious ceremony. Dozens of curious people crowded into the temple located on Serrano Street in Madrid to see celebrities, aristocrats, politicians and colorful characters up close.

Fortunately, the sun gave a respite because the day was cloudy.

The whistles and applause were mixed with "long live the king" and "beautiful, beautiful", although

those who shouted "Ayuso, throw out Sánchez" were also noted.

In this social event that has already been considered the wedding of the year, the crowd leaned patiently behind the fences while they excitedly watched the bride and groom and the attendees. He was a hive of cell phones. The vast majority wanted to immortalize the Bourbons and Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who has long been becoming one of the juiciest characters.

For this special occasion, the politician has opted for a design by Victoria (Vicky Martín Berrocal),

whom she usually considers her go-to designer.

It is a design called Yaakov in a bougainvillea tone printed with polka dots, with an asymmetrical neckline, batwing sleeves and a cut at the waist with a sarong skirt tied on the side.

As accessories, she wore black stilettos, a rectangular bag of the same color, and her hair tied up in a sophisticated bun adorned

with a net and plumeti headdress of the same color

.

After leaving the temple, the guests went to the El Canto de la Cruz farm, property of the bride's maternal grandparents, Teresa de Borbón-Dos Sicilias and Íñigo Moreno de Arteaga, located on the slopes of Cerro de San Pedro in the Sierra de Guadarrama near Colmenar Viejo, about 30 kilometers from the capital.
