So far, the four ruling and opposition parties have compiled written opinions on how to ensure a stable succession to the throne, and the Liberal Democratic Party also plans to compile opinions soon. House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga intends to hold discussions in the Diet once each party has finalized their ideas.

Regarding stable succession to the Imperial Throne, the government announced in January last year that there are two ways to secure the number of members of the imperial family:

▽ a plan for female members of the imperial family to remain in the imperial family after marriage, and

▽ a plan to adopt male lineage males from former imperial families. A report of the expert meeting including the above was submitted to the Diet.

In response to this, the chairs of both houses of the House of Representatives at the time requested that each party and faction proceed with the discussion, and the Japan Restoration Association submitted a written opinion in April of that year.

Since then, in December of last year, Speaker Nukaga of the House of Representatives encouraged discussion, and so far the Constitutional Democratic Party, Komeito, and Democratic Party of Japan have submitted a summary of issues and written opinions to the chairs of both houses of the House of Representatives.

The Liberal Democratic Party is also continuing discussions at a council chaired by Vice President Aso, and plans to gather opinions soon.

As Speaker Nukaga, I would like to discuss the matter in the Diet as soon as each party's ideas are finalized.
