As both Russia and Ukraine intensify attacks using drones, a senior Ukrainian government official told NHK that the country is expected to be able to manufacture more than 2 million drones this year. At the same time, he expressed his intention to accelerate the full-scale introduction of unmanned vehicles that utilize AI (artificial intelligence).

On the 5th, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, Khvozzhar, who is in charge of policy for the production and development of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine, responded to an interview with NHK in the capital Kiiv.

Deputy Minister Khvozjar said that approximately 200 companies are working on manufacturing drones in the country, and said, ``This year, we are ready to manufacture more than 2 million drones of various types.'' , revealed that its drone manufacturing capacity is significantly expanding.

In addition, the company is developing drones that use AI to evade interference by the Russian military using radio waves, etc., and says, ``AI will be useful in choosing the flight path and target of the drone. "It increases the likelihood of hitting the target correctly even if the target is attacked."

In addition, we are developing a technology in which multiple unmanned aircraft operate in a ``swarm'' called a swarm, and we are planning to announce a project that will be carried out in cooperation with Ukrainian companies this year.

Deputy Minister Khvozjar said that AI-based drones are already being tested on the front lines, and said, ``The speed of development brings faster victories. That's all I'm thinking about.'' I showed it.
