This was stated by adviser to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky.
“On the outskirts of Chasov Yar, our attack aircraft cleared the forest belt and reached a residential area,” TASS quotes him.
According to Kimakovsky, a large number of fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were located in the forests, including those that were “well buried and equipped.”
He noted that as a result of the operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost several hundred soldiers, including from elite units.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian city military administration, Sergei Chaus, said that in Chasovy Yar (DPR) the situation is now the most difficult since the start of hostilities.
Also, retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko said that Ukrainian military personnel turned the center of the city of Chasov Yar into a continuous fortified area.
