The agency notes that exports may be affected by tightening measures regarding the supply of goods that could potentially be used for military purposes. Kutlu Karavelioglu spoke about this, in particular, to the Association of Mechanical Engineering Exporters.

According to his estimates, many serious equipment manufacturers, given the pressure on the banking system and supply chains, will not be able to maintain “their previous interest in Russia.”

In early March, the Turkish Ministry of Trade reported a decrease in the volume of Turkish exports to Russia in February to $670 million compared to $1 billion in February 2023.

As the Aydınlık newspaper wrote, Turkish businessmen intend to file lawsuits against US officials who threatened them with restrictions for trading with Russia.
