If I were to name the Bundesliga of my dreams, then SG Wattenscheid 09, Stuttgarter Kickers, SV Meppen and SpVgg Unterhaching would definitely be there. Because as cynically as I now look at football, my heart expands when I look at all the provincial clubs that have briefly washed ashore from the endless regional league swamps over the years, i.e. into professional football. And today I am still happy about every prepotent small club that wants to spin on the big wheel despite having a hand-picked following and not even local relevance. After all, there used to be nothing more entertaining than village clubs that were kept alive solely by the loose wallet of a medium-sized company and climbed up league after league, only to then implode as planned shortly before promotion to the Bundesliga after the first serious tax audit by the patron .
