General Secretary Xi Jinping has told the story of Fang Zhimin many times. The General Secretary has read the article "Poverty", which is less than a thousand words, many times and said affectionately: "It expresses the love and hatred of the older generation of Communists. It answers what is real poverty and wealth, what is the greatest happiness in life, what is the great belief of revolutionaries, and how people can live a valuable life. Every time I read it, I am inspired, educated, and inspired."

In May 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Fang Zhimin's hometown of Jiangxi and recalled "Death!" ——The famous sentence in "Accounts of the Martyrs of Communism" "The enemy can only chop off our heads, but never shake our faith", and warns everyone that "without firm ideals and beliefs, we will be in the complex situation of flying through chaotic clouds." A half-section of old-fashioned cowhide leather belt is imprinted with the words "Long March", and is also engraved with the shining original intention of the Red Army soldiers to "loy their hearts to the Party".

This half of the belt belonged to Zhou Guangcai, an ordinary soldier from the 8th Company of the 274th Regiment of the Fourth Red Army during the Long March.

In July 1936, Zhou Guangcai's company ran out of food during the Long March across the grassland. 14-year-old Zhou Guangcai took out a belt, which was a trophy captured in a battle. After a section of the belt was eaten, Zhou Guangcai discussed with everyone with tears in his eyes, hoping to keep the remaining belt as a souvenir and take it with him "to Yan'an to meet Chairman Mao." In this way, with the longing for the victory of the revolution, everyone endured hunger and left half of the belt. In the ensuing journey, six comrades died one after another, and only Zhou Guang reached Yan'an. He burned the words "Long March" on the back of his belt to commemorate his memory.

In January 2016, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the former 13th Group Army and was deeply moved when he heard the story of the "half-cut belt": "This is the power of faith and a vivid portrayal of 'following the Party with an iron heart'." General Secretary He also urged everyone to explore and make good use of the red resources in the army to enrich the connotation of the "red gene transmission from generation to generation" project.

"The wind and rain soaked the bones, and the wild vegetables to satisfy the hunger became stronger; the officers and soldiers share the joys and sorrows, and the revolutionary ideal is higher than the sky." The half-cut belt is a witness to that great expedition known as the miracle of the world, and it is also a symbol of the revolutionary team like steel. Revealer of iron-like mysteries.

Using the story of "Half a Belt" to express his affectionate message to the officers and soldiers demonstrates the importance the military commander attaches to the education of party history, military history and glorious traditions, and his deep expectations for the officers and soldiers of the army to "follow the Party with all their heart".
