The National Commission for War Crimes and Violations of the Rapid Support Forces issued an arrest warrant for a number of leaders of the Civil Forces Coordination (Taqaddum), led by former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, according to Sudanese state television.

In addition to Hamdok, the list of those wanted for arrest included 16 other names, including the head of the Sudanese Congress Party, Omar Al-Dagir, the Secretary-General of the National Umma Party, Al-Wathiq Al-Barir, and the head of the Democratic Current of the Popular Movement, Yasser Arman.

The committee, formed by a decision from the Sudanese Public Prosecutor, accused those included in the list of provoking war against the state, incitement, aid, agreement, undermining the constitutional order, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, as described by the committee.

The Democratic Civilian Forces Coordination, headed by Hamdok, was formed after the outbreak of war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, to unite civilians with the aim of ending the crisis. The coordination includes parties and civil organizations, most notably the Forces of Freedom and Change (the former ruling coalition).

Since April 15, 2023, confrontations have continued in Sudan between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), leaving about 13,900 people dead and more than 8 million displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations.
