A video clip showed exciting moments experienced by a television presenter inside the studio, after she was struck by the earthquake that struck Taiwan at dawn today, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, while she was presenting the news bulletin.

The clip showed the Taiwanese iNews TV presenter speaking live while broadcasting the news, and suddenly the earthquake alert appeared on the screen, and the camera began to shake.

Seconds later, the sides of the studio and the light bulbs began to shake violently around her, while the broadcaster did her best to maintain her calm, and continued reading the news, clinging to the projector behind her, before the earthquake ended and she continued speaking again.

Tsunami waves reach the shores of Japan

For its part, the official Japanese news agency Kyodo announced that the tsunami waves after the earthquake reached the shores of the islands of Yonaguni and Ishigaki near Okinawa.

It was reported that flights were cancelled, Naha Airport in Okinawa was evacuated, and Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa announced that damage assessment activities were continuing in the Okinawa area after the earthquake.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) stressed the need to evacuate coastal areas due to the risk of a tsunami.

In January 2024, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck the central region of Japan, and the authorities issued a tsunami warning, advising residents to “evacuate immediately to higher areas.”

The earthquake live...horrific scenes

The scene of the broadcaster inside the studio during the earthquake had previously been repeated in several countries. On February 6, 2023, the Syrian broadcaster Ayham Marjeh appeared while broadcasting the news bulletin coinciding with the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and its frequencies reached Lebanon.

Within minutes of reading the bulletin, the studio began shaking left and right, and the broadcaster decided to announce the news himself, saying, “We are experiencing an earthquake live on the air.”

During the 5.9-magnitude earthquake in the city of Duzce in northwestern Turkey on November 23, 2022, the broadcaster who was presenting the news bulletin on the NTV channel experienced a moment of shaking.

The broadcaster interrupted the news she was reading, saying, "Dear viewers, at these moments, there is an earthquake happening. Yes, and the earthquake is increasing in intensity over time. Currently, of course, I cannot know the details, but I assure you that we are indeed experiencing an earthquake."

It's now available at 5.9.

The broadcaster continued her speech by saying, “About 30 seconds have passed and we are in an earthquake and we are still swaying. Until now we have no information about the epicenter of this earthquake. We are now in the Maslak neighborhood in the Sariyer district of Istanbul, and we felt the force of this earthquake, and we do not know if the earthquake is occurring.” "In another place, and is this intensity reaching us here, or is the epicenter of the earthquake here? We have no idea about that now, but I can say that it caused great fear."

In September 2019, one of the broadcasters lived the aftershocks of the Turkish earthquake live inside the studio, and said, “I told you that there was an earthquake 10 seconds ago, but it is still continuing.”
