Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Russian Federation plans to mobilize another 300,000 troops on June 1. This is reported by the news agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.

"I can say that Russia is preparing to mobilize 300,000 additional soldiers for June 1st," said Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Kiev.

When asked by journalists how many recruits will be mobilized into the Ukrainian army in 2024, the president replied: "As far as the specific number of people who will be mobilized, I can't say anything. We don't need half a million« The Ukrainian army, as Zelensky said at the end of 2023, called for the mobilization of 400,000 to 500,000 Ukrainians.

Zelensky signed a mobilization law that lowers the draft age

Zelensky thanked Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky for the test in the army and said: "It is important that he [Syrsky] found strength within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and that a corresponding number of those who are not yet at the front Were going to be at the front.”

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law lowering the age limit for conscription from 27 to 25 years. The Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, passed the corresponding law in May 2023. Zelensky, however, had not signed the document for almost a year.

The media "Verstka" reported in March 2024, citing Russian government sources, that the Russian Defense Ministry was planning to send 300,000 more people to war in the near future. According to the report, authorities will focus primarily on reservists as well as former conscripts. The sources from “Verstka” spoke of “Mobilization 2.0”.
