Basque Country Tribute to an ETA murderer 11 days after not being able to pay tribute to the murdered man, Eduardo Puelles
Courts The National Court rejects investigating ETA leaders for genocide
The judge of the National Court Manuel García-Castellón has proposed trying six people for a continued crime of glorifying terrorism and humiliating the victims, as responsible for 120 acts of tribute to ETA prisoners between 2016 and 2020.
Following the criteria of the
Prosecutor's Office
, the order that concludes the investigation is directed against the members of the
Sortu Prisoners Commission José Antonio López Ruiz
,
Kubati
, and
Oihana Garmendia Marín
, in addition to those investigated
Haymar Altuna, Oihana San Vicente Sáez de Cerain, Carlos Saez de Egilaz Murgiondo
and
Felipe San Epifanio San Pedro
.
The resolution of the investigating judge explains that, in their capacity as members of the Sortu, Kubati and Garmendia Marín Prisoners Commission, together with the rest of those investigated, "they have developed an activity aimed at organizing in a systematic and systematized manner the acts of tribute to prisoners, sometimes using the
Kalera kalera
dynamic and on other occasions other social movements or associations, depending on the needs of the specific moment".
The organization of the
ongi etorris
and other acts of tribute to the prisoners of the terrorist group was carried out, the order states, through "strict rules" both in relation to "which prisoners tribute was paid to and in relation to how the I had to develop the tribute". Only "those prisoners who had remained during their captivity within the discipline of the group of prisoners" were honored.
Throughout the order, in which the accusations are given a period of ten days to present their indictment documents, the magistrate records the 120 specific acts of homage to members of the terrorist organization ETA.
