“The Supreme Chamber of Control... sends a notification of suspicion of committing a crime, in particular under Article 231 of the Criminal Code, against the former prime minister... and other civil servants responsible for these actions,” the TASS department said in a statement.
The Supreme Chamber classified Morawiecki's actions as abuse of power and failure to fulfill official duties. Losses of local government as a result of the actions of the ex-prime minister were estimated at approximately $1 billion.
In December, it was reported that the new Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, fired the heads of the country's five intelligence services on his first day in office.
Also, according to RMF, Polish intelligence services wiretapped Morawiecki when he was prime minister.
