According to the latest official data, the number of victims of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow reached 144 people, the number of victims increased to 551. At the same time, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the department received 143 applications from victims about the disappearance of their relatives or friends as a result of the tragedy in "Crocus".

They have finished clearing away the rubble at the scene, but identification of all the bodies of the dead has not yet been completed. Now it is carried out, including through DNA tests. Official lists of missing people are not published; relatives of disappeared people continue to search for them.

The families of the missing are in a difficult situation - they still do not know whether their loved ones are alive, and every day they check the lists of victims and injured in the tragedy in the hope that their relatives could survive and end up in hospitals.

At the same time, according to RT’s interlocutors, there are no longer “nameless” victims of the tragedy left in hospitals - the identities of all patients have been established. There is a small hope that errors and typos may have been made in the personal data and some of the missing ones will be found in the future.

RT spoke with several Russians looking for their loved ones after the tragedy at Crocus.

“Identification procedures in morgues are still underway”

26-year-old Angelina Shalaeva still does not know the fate of her stepfather Vasily Khozin, who went missing on the day of the tragedy at Crocus City Hall - the man is not on the list of dead and injured. The terrorist attack at Crocus claimed the lives of Angelina’s closest relatives - her mother Victoria and 12-year-old younger brother Artemy. They went to the Picnic performance on March 22, and Angelina stayed at home with her five-year-old sister Vasilisa.

“My brother loved rock very much, it was his dream to go to a concert. Mom and stepfather decided to surprise him. The parents themselves had a neutral attitude towards rock, they didn’t go to concerts, they went for Artemy’s sake so that he wouldn’t go alone,” the girl told RT.

At the beginning of nine in the evening, Angelina’s mother called her and reported the shooting. And then she sent a video: they managed to get out of the hall, they were looking for a way out of the building. Then the connection with the woman was interrupted.

“I watched all possible videos from Crocus in the hope of getting at least some information about my relatives. There were none in the hospitals. As a result, the names of my mother and brother appeared on the lists of the dead. I gave DNA tests and three days later they confirmed that my mother and brother were dead. The stepfather is considered missing, but identification procedures at the morgues are still underway,” Angelina said.

Little Vasilisa still does not know about the death of her parents. Yesterday Angelina received guardianship for six months.

41-year-old Muscovite Vasily Khozin has still not been found, although, according to Angelina, there are no longer any nameless people in hospitals. Vasily’s relatives have donated DNA and are waiting for the identification of the bodies of those killed in Crocus to be completed.

Vasily worked in a company that made cakes with special effects - the man designed mechanisms for unusual desserts. They had known Angelina’s mother, Victoria, since childhood - and six years ago the woman came from her native Taganrog to the capital to work, wrote to Vasily, and the couple began an affair. A year later, their daughter Vasilisa was born, and Victoria’s children, Angelina and Artemy, came to Moscow.

Not included in the lists

37-year-old Yana Pogodaeva and 33-year-old Kristina Bugerskaya are best friends. On the day of the terrorist attack in Crocus, they went to listen to Picnic; they both love this group and had long been planning to go to the concert. We bought tickets two months in advance and were really looking forward to the event, recalls Christina’s husband Semyon.

During the Picnic concert at Crocus, Christina suddenly called her husband, but because of the noise, he could not make out her words and did not understand what had happened. Then Semyon called Yana’s husband, Igor. He was already aware of what was happening in the concert hall. Igor urgently went to Crocus from the Sokolniki metro station, Semyon took a car sharing and also went to Krasnogorsk - from Seligerskaya. The men were already on site at 20:40.

“We looked into the ambulance, spent the whole night there - nothing,” says Semyon.

For several days nothing was known about the fate of the girls. According to Semyon, Yana was found among the dead using a DNA test, but there is no such information about Kristina. The man notes that both girls are listed as dead, but he is still convinced that Christina may be alive.

“Christina was included in the list of dead, but this is a preliminary list. And this was done without reason. She was not found, not identified, DNA tests are not ready,” Semyon writes on his social networks.

Christina has a 12-year-old son; he now lives with his grandmother. On the third day, Christina’s mother took a DNA test for identification procedures. Semyon continues to believe that his beloved is alive and says that he will continue the search until he receives official confirmation.

42-year-old Vladislava Konkova, along with her husband Denis, also went missing after a concert at Crocus on March 22. The woman is originally from Belarus, but long ago moved to Moscow and got married here.

On Monday, Vlada did not come to work, and the last activity on her social networks occurred on the evening of the terrorist attack. Konkova's colleagues sounded the alarm. Her friend began searching for the woman; Vlada has no children or relatives in the capital. A friend went to Vlada’s house in the hope that she would find her there, but this did not happen.

The fate of Vlada and Denis remains unknown - according to Konkova’s friend, there are no spouses on the lists of those killed and injured at Crocus.
