On the 2nd, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that two Tupolev 95 long-range strategic bombers conducted a routine flight over the international waters of the Sea of ​​Japan, and released footage. According to the announcement, the flight lasted approximately 10 hours and was accompanied by Russian Air Force Sukhoi 30 fighter jets as escort.

The air force commander said: "The flight was carried out in strict accordance with international law. The pilots regularly fly over the high seas of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black Sea, Baltic Sea and Pacific Ocean."
