In response to this month's by-election for the House of Representatives, the Liberal Democratic Party has decided not to field official candidates for Tokyo's 15th ward and Nagasaki's 3rd ward. As a result, the Liberal Democratic Party will field an official candidate in Shimane 1st Ward.

Of the three by-elections for the House of Representatives to be held on the 28th of this month, the Liberal Democratic Party has fielded an official candidate for Shimane 1st Ward, while continuing to consider responses to Tokyo's 15th Ward and Nagasaki's 3rd Ward.

Regarding Nagasaki's 3rd ward, Secretary-General Motegi and Election Committee Chairman Obuchi met with House of Councilors member Yuichiro Koga, chairman of the Nagasaki Prefectural Federation, and others at party headquarters and held discussions.

As a result, a by-election was held, taking into account that the number of electoral districts in Nagasaki Prefecture would decrease by one due to issues surrounding political funds of factions and the increase in the number of single-seat constituencies by 10, which will be applied from the next House of Representatives election. We have decided not to field an official candidate for the position.

Additionally, it has been decided that no official candidates will be nominated for Tokyo's 15 wards.

Secretary-General Motegi told reporters after the meeting, ``Although there were circumstances in each constituency, the circumstances that led to by-elections in Tokyo's 15th ward and Nagasaki's 3rd ward made it difficult for our party to field candidates. I'm sure there were situations like that," he said.
