He worked as a rehabilitation trainer for the Chinese Taipei team and also worked in a chiropractic clinic in Singapore. Nowadays, Guo Yaohong has opened a sports injury rehabilitation center in Beijing and carved out his own "little world".

Guo Yaohong's "Little World" is located in the CBD of Chaoyang District. Although it has an area of nearly 120 square meters, it is not large but has abundant supporting facilities. Various equipment such as dumbbell benches, yoga balls, and "red rope" suspension equipment are neatly arranged, and various rehabilitation books are displayed on the bookshelves. Recently, Guo Yaohong was interviewed by a reporter from China News Service at the rehabilitation center he ran, and shared his story of coming to the mainland for development.

Guo Yaohong was born in 1992 and comes from Taoyuan, Taiwan. Unlike some rehabilitators who like sports, he joked that entering this profession was an "accident." His family is engaged in sculpture work, and he had no interest in sports when he was a child. He would even change the channel immediately when watching a sports program on TV. After graduating from high school, he was admitted to the National Taiwan Sports University among the many schools he applied for to study in the Department of Sports and Health Sciences.

"After reading it, I found it quite interesting. Many things are tangible and tangible, and you can see the effects immediately after helping others recover." Injury prevention, first aid treatment, physical conditioning... During school, he often worked in various fields. Practical training in the service of similar events. After graduation, in order to seek differentiated development and accumulate experience, he worked in the Chinese Taipei team and a private rehabilitation studio. Later, on the recommendation of a university classmate, he joined a chiropractic clinic in Singapore.

In a conversation with his senior, Guo Yaohong learned that a rehabilitation center in Beijing needed rehabilitation practitioners and also provided rehabilitation services for the national team. In order to have more room for improvement, in October 2019, he "landed" for development with the idea of "trying it out".

There was a little episode before coming to Beijing. Guo Yaohong initially received a job invitation from Nanjing, but his father, who wanted him to stay and work in Taiwan, did not agree. His father said that Beijing was better and did not want him to go to Nanjing. Later, when he actually received the job opportunity from Beijing, his father had no choice but to agree.

After arriving in Beijing, Guo Yaohong served as a sports injury prevention consultant for the Chinese Gymnastics Team. He worked on the team one day a week and spent the rest of the time in the rehabilitation center to receive clients, assess their injuries, and provide rehabilitation services and training. Later, affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, he switched to working full-time in a rehabilitation center until he left his job to start a business in August last year.

"I think this is a process of self-realization." Talking about his original intention to start a business, Guo Yaohong told reporters that he had the idea of opening a studio as early as when he was studying. "With a small shop, you can have your own ideas about many things and be creative."

Guo Yaohong observed that mainland people now invest more in artistic and sports life, and have access to various sports such as football, tennis, and badminton. At the same time, there are more and more sports injuries and rehabilitation needs, and the rehabilitation industry has broad prospects for development.

After coming to Beijing for nearly five years, Guo Yaohong likes the unique architecture, convenient life and climate with four distinct seasons. He likes to travel around, and before starting his own business, he often visited historical sites in Beijing during his holidays. "People say, 'Reading thousands of books is not as good as traveling thousands of miles.' You really have to go and see for yourself to know what society is like and what the world is like."

Guo Yaohong said that starting his own company, serving many times as many customers as when he worked in Taiwan, being able to help many people and becoming friends with each other are all very fulfilling things over the years. Regarding the future, he plans to gradually expand the size of the rehabilitation center. (over)
