On its page on the X platform, the Qatari Ministry of Health shared a set of tips for 3 health conditions that require them to pay more attention to their dental health.

The 3 cases mentioned by the Ministry are:

1- Diabetic patient

A diabetic patient may become more susceptible to gum disease and oral health problems, and therefore he must:

  • Always make sure to control blood sugar levels by reducing sugar intake

  • Brush your teeth twice daily and use dental floss regularly

  • Visit the dentist for routine checkups every 6 months

2- Someone who has had an organ transplant

This group may be more susceptible to oral health problems due to the medications they take, and they should:

  • Do not make any changes to the teeth until at least 3 months after the implantation procedure

  • Make sure to inform the dentist that you have received an organ transplant and share the medications you are taking

3- Cancer patients

Treatments used for cancer patients may cause dry mouth and many dental health problems, and therefore they should:

  • Make sure to drink water to keep the mouth moist

  • Do a dental examination about a month before starting cancer treatment
